Going viral on TikTok

So… I posted a TikTok from when I got the first postcard, and thanks to the TikTok algorithm, it found it’s people and is kind of going viral. Not mega-viral, but we’re up to like 22K views, 5k likes, and nearly 500 comments. My follower count has also doubled (still very modest, but this is very niche content!). It seems to be resonating with people who love books, have also lost their mom, and those who just appreciate a good story. Obviously I am crying in the video, so I’m sure that has something to do with it too.

What is incredible is the number of people who have reached out to help - they’re willing to distribute books in Little Free Libraries in their cities and towns, they’re offering to cover the cost of shipping, they helping to spread the word. I am in awe.

This has lit a fire under me because now I’m up against the impending TikTok “ban” - I’m so upset because it feels like I just found my people and now they’re going to be taken away, making it even harder for this story to find the right audience.

Anyway, I’m getting organized and heading to Colorado next week to start processing all of my mom’s books and postcards in earnest. Thankful for my friends Susan and Elizabeth who are coming with me to help!
